2 Clayton County Alumni get the call on NFL Draft Night 2017
On Friday, April 28, 2017 two Clayton County High School alums were selected in the 2017 NFL Draft.
Antonio Garcia an alum of Charles Drew HS and former player at Troy University was selected in the 3rd round by the World Champion New England Patriots. Garcia who plays offensive tackle in college is projected as a versatile lineman in the NFL with the possibilities of playing tackle or guard. Garcia, a former basketball player took advantage of his opportunity in the 2017 Senior Bowl by showing all of the NFL scouts that he could compete at the highest levels.
Cameron Sutton an alum of Jonesboro HS and former player at The University of Tennessee was selected in the 3rd round of the draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Sutton is a dynamic player who is an excellent cornerback known for his outstanding coverage skills and an exceptional special teams player, where he returns kicks. Sutton was a multi-sport star at JHS where he also played baseball and basketball.
