CCPS Middle School Basketball All-Stars Shine at 2017 All-Star Night

The 2017 CCPS Middle School All-Star Basketball Games and 3 Point Shootout took place on Tuesday February 7, 2017 at Sequoyah Middle School.In the Girls game the South Team edged the North team with a 1 point victory.Both teams played extremely well as indicated by a close game. The game MVP’s were Mariah Spain of Pointe South Middle for the South team and Gabryelle Matthews of Elite Scholars for the North team.

In the boys game the South came away with a 3 point victory over the North squad. The South team blocked a 3-point attempt at the buzzer to secure the win. The South MVP was Joshua Arnold of Jonesboro Middle, while the North MVP was Jyshaun Melvin of Rex Mill Middle.

Mundy’s Mill Middle School made it a clean sweep in the 3-Point Shootout competition as Lady Razorback Jeliah Jelks captured the Girls Championship and Ashton Jones won the Boys Championship.

Clayton County Public Schools would also like to thank our All-Star Coaches who were chosen based on their team’s success throughout the 2016/17 season.
