JONESBORO — Eddie White Academy capped off a perfect 9-0 season by winning the Clayton County Public Schools Middle School Football Championship Tuesday over Rex Mill Middle by a score of 14-6.

Both teams won two tournament games to advance to the championship game. Rex Mill beat North Clayton Middle 28-6 in the opening round before outlasting Riverdale Middle 28-26 in the semifinals. Eddie White Academy beat Pointe South Middle 14-6 in the opening round and downed Morrow Middle 20-8 in the semifinals.

Rex Mill Middle finished the season with an 8-1 record after a loss in the championship game.
